Mink - remarks - removal of slurry twice a week

Assessment of the Environmental Impact of Removal of Slurry at Frequent Intervals

The Environmental Protection Agency has not yet determined on the exact assessment of the environmental impact of removal of slurry at frequent intervals, e.g. whether the environmental impact of removal of slurry twice a week is equivalent to the environmental impact of daily removal of slurry.

Temporarily the environmental impact of removal of slurry at frequent intervals is set to be a 27% reduction of ammonia emissions and this estimate applies to both daily removal of slurry and removal of slurry twice a week.

The Environmental Protection Agency has in Guidelines for Environmental Approvals for Livestock Holdings supplied a description of how the environmental impact of the technology is handled when applying for approval.
