Market barriers and drivers: Increased demand for recyclable textiles
The initiative seeks to stimulate an increased demand for sustainably produced textiles among businesses through distribution of a case catalogue on successful design of recyclable textiles.
Solid examples of brands and producers with a focus on reusable and recyclable textiles are thought to stimulate the demand among stakeholders in the industry, when coupled with an attention to market barriers and drivers.
To “nudge” the market along, a catalogue of successful examples of businesses, which have designed and developed their products with a specific focus on recyclability and reuse, will be put together to highlight the possibilities of sustainable textile production. Also, stakeholder meetings will be hosted to ensure dialogue and facilitate practical cooperation throughout the value chain.
The project is expected to run from October 2016 to November 2017 and is coordinated by the Nordic Waste Group (NAG) and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.
